Okay, so this was another first and I absolutely loved it! When these two approached me about their same sex wedding reception I was completely ecstatic! Shannon and Abigail had a destination wedding earlier in the year and then had a freaking awesome reception in September! I was so happy that I was able to document the love and joy between these two and their families! Beside me, assisting and shooting, was the lovely Rachel Shomsky. It was a truly fabulous day, so let me tell you how it all went down!
Shannon and Abby are two amazing people with beautiful souls! They completed intrusted me to photograph what I saw and how I saw it. 100% photojournalistic! There was no posing and I couldn’t have been happier with how it all turned out! I photographed everything exactly how it happened and the moments between these two and their families and friends were so extremely special!
Their reception was held at a residence in Troy, Michigan and they transformed the backyard into an island getaway! It all looked super cute! During the reception the guests shared memories and kind words with the brides. After the loving words, funny memories, and shared special moments the dance floor opened! The guests were such a fun group of people and everyone had a great time dancing with each other! Before I left I was able to witness and capture a fun and romantic moment when Shannon and Abby had a sparkler jubilee ceremony! It was such a special moment!
I left the happy couple and their guests on the dance floor and they danced the night away! It was such a cool experience to be completely photojournalistic and document it all how it happened! I can’t wait to do it again!
