Traverse City Opera House Wedding | Sarah Kossuch Photography

It was one spectacular, beautiful day for Nick and LeRae’s Traverse City Opera House wedding! I absolutely love up north weddings, and theirs is no exception! The weather held out and the wind made for fabulous photographs. This Traverse City Opera House wedding was better than I could have hoped for! From the ceremony at West Bay Beach to the awesome photographs at Interlochen, every bit of the day was awesome!

One of my favorite gals, Nicole, traveled up to TC with me to capture their special day! I dropped Nicole off at West Bay Beach to capture the morning with Nicholas and I headed over to Indigo Hotel to hang with LeRae and her ladies. LeRae rocked out a gorgeous, long veil on her big day. It was a stunning process to get it all into place and it truly completed her wedding day look! Beautiful!

Honestly, the whole day was beautiful! The wind threatened to move their ceremony, but the down to earth LeRae and Nick didn’t let a little mother nature stop them. They persisted and it was TOTALLY worth it! The sunshine and the waves were apart of their day, and it stunning Grand Traverse Bay was the perfect backdrop for their ceremony.

And while I absolutely love the ceremony, the BEST part about the day is that we got to go back to where these two met. How often does that happen on a wedding day!?! Almost never! These two met at Interlochen Center for the Arts. They’re both incredibly musically talented so no surprise there! The camp was so COOL! The staff was extremely friendly and all the campers were so excited to see a bridal party there. Word traveled fast and soon the whole camp knew that their were newlyweds on the premises. The excitement was bursting at the seams!

When I thought of photographing these two at a camp, I thought of old cafeteria halls and dingy dorms buried in the woods. But this camp had a beautiful campus located on the water! I was blown away! It was a perfect location for photos! We took the bridal party to the large outdoor theatre for photographs and they had a blast on stage! As the bridal party talked and laughed, reminiscing about the good old days, we captured some quiet (and hilarious) moments of LeRae and Nicholas cuddled up in the seats. Too freaking CUTE!

It was hard to drag these two away from a place that they hold so dearly in their heart. They found love at this place where they pursued their passions, and that’s the best thing about it! We saw a glimpse of their passion and musical talent at their reception! They had an awesome reception held at The City Opera House in downtown Traverse City. Such a cool location! The guests played kazoos as LeRae and Nicholas entered. Something I’ve never seen before! Later on during the evening, Nicholas sang to LeRae and it melted our hearts! He is such a sweetheart and you could tell in the moment as LeRae locked eyes on him, she was madly in love with Nicholas! A true modern day musical fairytale!

But before I go on about princes and princesses, take a look at the incredibly awesome Nicholas and LeRae!

xoxo,

Sarah
