In late June I photographed some pretty amazing people. Kurt and Amanda were the absolute sweetest and I loved capturing their wedding day. Their reception was held at the Meeting House, a great reception hall located in downtown Plymouth! The day was filled with hugs, love, joy, and fun! I was so happy to capture the day and the joining of two families!
Amanda got ready at her parents house in Plymouth. She spend the morning getting ready with her closest friends and family along with her step daughter getting ready alongside her. It was SO precious to watch their interactions. You could tell how much love Amanda had for her!
Kurt got ready at TownePlace Suites Detroit in Livonia. He was also accompanied by his son. He was one of the cutest little boys I’ve ever seen! Filled with so much charisma and energy! The groomsmen all wore bright colorful socks, and so did Kurt’s son, the ring bearer. He complained because he thought they were girl socks because they had pink on them, but once all the guys put theirs on, he felt like part of the group!
The amazing couple had their ceremony at First United Methodist Church in Plymouth. Kurt’s children were the flower girl and ring bearer and they were TOO cute! Amanda had the biggest smile walking down the aisle towards Kurt. I always love when you can see how happy the couple are when they get married!
In between the ceremony and reception, we went to the Mill Race Village for photographs. I love this location because there are multiple buildings and areas for backdrops. Kurt and Amanda looked absolutely stunning in front of the rustic wood doors and the bridal party looked great in front of the white chapel!
After we captured some great moments, we headed to the reception! The reception was at the Meeting House Grand Ballroom. The room, glowing purple, looked great! While everything was beautiful, my favorite part of the decorations were the pictures frames of family members displayed on a grand piano. The old wedding photographs displayed their parents and grandparents. It was such as sweet tribute to their family members!
While the guests mingled and partied, we snuck out to take some photographs in downtown Plymouth. To our surprise when we walked out, the streets were filled with people! There was a music festival happening that night, but we found an alley way and captured some really amazing photographs! Sometimes plan B turns out better than the original plan! After we left the happy couple to enjoy the rest of their evening!
