Jackie & Cal’s Detroit Athletic Club Wedding
Jackie & Cal married on a wintery Saturday in December at the Detroit Athletic Club in Downtown Detroit Michigan. Jackie first contacted me and said “I have always dreamed of a winter wedding and would love to find a photographer that can capture the light and love of that time of year.” I knew then documenting their winter wedding would be special.
My experience working with Jackie & Cal has been a breath of fresh air. Jackie carries herself in a way that is peacefully calm. I don’t think she ever stopped smiling and it is infectious. The day of their winter wedding was no different. Jackie was ready to enjoy every moment of their big wedding day!
Beginning their Detroit wedding, day Jennifer and I started at the Detroit Athletic Club where Jackie and Cal finished their final wedding day touch ups. When I walked into the conference room where Jackie, her bridesmaid and family were, I instantly smiled! Jackie turned around wearing a lovely white silk pajama set with ostrich feathers along the sleeves, then smiled with excitement to see us there.
I collected all of Jackie’s details to photograph them in one of the main rooms at the Detroit Athletic Club. The wedding invitation, her shoes, their rings and her wedding dress matched perfectly with the esthetics. Once Jackie & Cal completed getting ready, they opted for a first look anywhere that would be romantic. We decided on an area with large windows near a fireplace. Family members were in the distance while jack and Cal saw each other for the first time. Tears, smiles and love surrounded them in the spectacular lobby at the Detroit Athletic Club. Before their reception began in the ballroom, we departed to the ceremony location at The Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Downtown Detroit.
Wedding day details are important when creating final touches for your wedding day. Jackie & Cal used Emerald City Designs for decor and live music by The Chateau Band to give their wedding guests and experience.
