This Gem Theatre Detroit wedding was truly perfect. I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to work with! They were some of the kindest, relaxed, and genuine people I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. Their wedding day was so amazing from start to finish and they both were turning heads the whole night, what a beautiful couple.
Nicole and I met up with Caitlin and Curtis at Aloft Detroit at the David Whitney the morning of their big day! As Nicole photographed the guys, I spent some time documenting the special items that would be apart of Caitlin’s day along with the girls chatting and talking about their excitement for the big day. Caitlin’s style is absolutely beautiful! Her dress from The White Dress in Brighton Michigan is one of the most stunning I have ever seen, I could not take my eyes off it. This became even more true once she had it on! Drop. Dead. Gorgeous. Not to mention her shoes were so elegant and sexy, It was all just to die for! The suite Caitlin and her girls were getting ready in had the most amazing view! It overlooked the whole city with a incredible look at Comerica Park! Caitlin surprised her girls with the most thoughtful gift! As they sat on the bed before putting their dresses on the opened up the cutest black scarves to throw over their shoulders. Everyone was ecstatic because they would be warm for outdoor photos and also because they were so beautiful! Meanwhile, the guys and Nicole were making their way to Joe Louis Arena for some awesome photos. The guys all had Detroit themed socks which added a nice touch to the location! I just love capturing a wedding party at some iconic places like this around the city, they look awesome!
Once everyone was ready we made our way over to The Gem Theatre to begin the ceremony. It was such a beautiful site to witness as Caitlin and Curtis said their vows and became husband and wife! They looked so happy and so in love up on stage in the beautiful theatre. Afterwards we went up to the balcony overlooking the theatre to capture some dramatic moments of these two. These are truly some of our favorite wedding photos! After the ceremony Everyone made their way downstairs for dinner. This room was so romantic and really helped set the mood for this amazing wedding. Everyone enjoyed their dinner as they listened to the heartfelt speeches from the people closest to these two. There were happy tears shed and lots of laughs. Afterwards, everyone ventured back up stairs to the theatre where the ceremony was help. The room had been transformed during dinner into a beautiful open dance floor! Caitlin and Curtis shared a first dance to the song Green Eyes by Coldplay, it was definitely a tearjerker. The dances continued and finally it was time to really get the part started. As much as we loved Caitlin’s dress, we fell in love all over again with her next dress! Caitlin slipped off the dance floor and quickly returned in the cutest party dress! We just loved it!
What an amazing couple and and amazing wedding. We were so happy to be there to capture these beautiful moments of Caitlin and Curtis on their wedding day.
