In the fall I photographed an absolutely beautiful family of four at their home. The family portrait photography session in Canton Michigan was one of my favorites! They were just the sweetest couple with the cutest little boy and newborn baby girl! The Meléndez family was so laid back and natural during their session and we got some amazing photographs from it!
The portrait session was filled with giggles, toys, sunshine, and of course, lots of love! Their lifestyle type photography session allowed us to capture precious, authentic moments. Instead of being stiffly posed for every shot, the Meléndez family was able to be relaxed and interact with each other like they normally would! My favorite photographs from this session are when the children were not posed. Their little boy read a book to me as I photographed away and the sweet baby girl laid on her back on the bed while I shot her playing with her toes. SO CUTE! So next time you think family portraits, don’t think plastered up against a 90’s backdrop, think authentic, relaxed, and natural.
