Where do I even begin with this wedding?
Have you ever had a friend who is basically your sister and also known a pretty awesome guy from grade school but both never knew each other. Then one day they meet on a random night and it all comes together. That’s kind of what happened with Vicky & Justin.
I’ve known Vicky for most of her life. She was 4 years old! Her two older sisters Monica + Marsha have been my best friends, forever. In fact we’ve been friends for 23 years. They’re really my sisters just not biologically.
These girls have so much special meaning too me. They really are incredible actually including their brother Steven they are the strongest people I’ve even known in my life.
On top of Vicky’s wedding I also photographed their brother Steven’s wedding last summer at the beautiful Cottonwood Barn in Dexter, MI (don’t worry that blog is coming soon!!). I also photographed their cousin Danny’s wedding which was held at the exact same church as Vicky’s!
So one day at a baby shower Vicky and I were chatting and she tells me she met someone her sisters and I went to school with. Of course I’m like “Who’s?!” She tells me Justin and I’m literally floored! It just seemed like “wow what a small world!” And well, here we are today!
Vicky + Justin got engaged, started to plan their wedding and then they announced a little surprise was on the way1 YAY a baby!! They welcomes a handsome baby boy into the world last Summer 2014. Their wedding plans changed a bit. I received a phone call and Vicky tells me she wants to get married in just a few DAYS!! WHAT?!? AHHHHH how exciting?!? I was through the ROOF with excitement! They both decided to have a very intimate wedding with very close family and friends. And that’s exactly what they did.
And guess what? Right after their ceremony, their son Will was baptized. I honestly felt like this was never something I could imagine photographing again so the experience was absolutely priceless.
Are you ready for a peek at their wedding? Here we go!
And seriously, even their outtakes are B E A U T I F U L
Their wedding took place at St. Lazarus Serbian Orthodox Cathedral
The reception took place at Black Finn in Royal Oak, MI
I am SO incredibly thrilled to be apart of such a special day for two special people. It’s not every day you get to photograph a wedding just days away that includes a beautiful baptism and be surrounded by people who are essentially your second family.
