Seeing Jessica + Paul for their beautiful Colony Club Detroit wedding day and how it unfolded was just that glimmer of appreciation of what actually goes into such an amazing wedding day. Planning a wedding takes a lot of work. From the moment you say “YES” to your bling to the final hug goodbye at the end of your wedding night.
I started their day at the Detroit Marriott located inside of the Renaissance Center and honestly, it was perfect. Walking in the girls were so calm, cool and collected, Jessica was sitting in the chair wrapping up her makeup by none other then The Makeup Loft! She looked absolutely radiant! Still, she was nervous but it never showed. The only thing shining from her was her gorgeous smile.
This actually happens to be one of my favorite parts of a wedding day. Just seeing a bride with her makeup on, fresh, happy and really just ready to take on the day is truly heartwarming.
Jessica’s mother, OH MY goodness, you guys talk about amazing. Her mother was a gem. I mean seriously she’s a gem. She would tell me briefly about Jessica and how they were so blessed with her it really just even now brings tears to my eyes. To see parents so proud of their daughter is something I’ll never forget. In fact it makes me really look at my own children and thank my lucky stars for them. She is hands down an amazing mother, she just glowed (and cried) all day. it was beautiful.
After getting ready we headed to St. Mary’s of Royal Oak and it was stunning! From the cathedral ceilings, to the stained glass and even the small bridal area. It was just a perfect place for Jessica + Paul. This is when I met Paul’s mother and *sigh* just when I loved Jessica’s mother, I instantly loved Paul’s! She was SO incredibly nice and so welcoming to us. I mean you guys it really was such a warm and calming day for these two who really in essence are exactly that, warm and calming.
Jessica was really smart with her timeline and for that we are truly thankful. Leaving the church in Royal Oak we heading to the DIA and as luck would have it the weather was beautiful. From there we headed straight to the Colony Club Detroit and the rest is history… Without much explanation I think the story of their day is best told in their images…and I’m just floored with how happy, comfortable and stunning these two really are.
