This Art 634 Jackson Michigan Ann Arbor wedding was truly amazing. I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to work with! They were some of the kindest, relaxed, and genuine couples I’ve photographed. Their ceremony, held at St. Mary’s Star of The Sea in Jackson, Michigan was followed by some amazing photographs at Consumers Energy Headquarters and Art 634. Then we headed to Ann Arbor for their beautiful reception at the Sheraton Hotel. The day was filled with special moments, little mementos, and fabulous people! And not to mention, I had my associate photographer, Nicole, documenting the day with me.
Nicole and I met up with Meghan and Dillon at St. Mary’s Star of The Sea Catholic Church in Jackson the morning of their big day! As Nicole photographed the guys, I spent some time documenting the special items that would be apart of Meghan’s day. Her grandmother lent her a blue cloth handkerchief that she had on her wedding day and it was so precious that it was a part of Meghan’s day too! Even though Meghan got ready for her big day in the basement of the church, there was gorgeous window light filling the room. You couldn’t even tell it was a basement! She looked absolutely stunning as her bridesmaids helped her into her dress.
Before the ceremony, Meghan and Dillon had a first look outside to exchange gifts before they walked down the aisle. The sun broke through the clouds as Meghan walked towards Dillon. They were so cute together seeing each other for the first time, lots of smiles and giggles. Once the two exchanged their special gifts we headed back inside to cool down before their ceremony.
The ceremony was a beautiful site to witness as the high school sweethearts said their vows and became husband and wife! After the ceremony we headed a couple blocks down the street to Consumers Energy Headquaters to photograph the bridal party. The sunny day caused us to readjust where we were photographing but we found a beautiful spot at the back of the building. And then we were off to Art 634. Since I’m not familiar with Jackson, I’ve never heard of Art 634 before working with Meghan and Dillon, but it is seriously such a cool location! It has a cobblestone road and a vintagesque alley with vines and flowers. The whimsical location was perfect for these two! And before the wedding, Meghan told me that butterflies reminded her of her late grandpa, and the craziest thing happened while we were at Art 634. As I was looking at the back of my camera, I saw a white butterfly out of the corner of my eye, as I quickly adjusted my settings to capture a photograph of it, the butterfly disappeared. It was a sweet little reminder that even though some family members are gone, they are still there in spirit, especially on those special days.
And the special little moments didn’t end there. We headed off to the reception at the Sheraton Hotel in Ann Arbor. At the reception, Meghan and Dillon cut their cake with a very special knife. It is a family heirloom from Meghan’s grandparents and it was used at their wedding, her parent’s wedding, and her sister’s wedding. I absolutely love when family tradition is incorporated into the couple’s wedding day. So precious! And let me tell you about their first dance, as they gazed into each other’s eyes and smiled, I could really tell how in love these two were. The chemistry was undeniable!
We left the wedding reception at the end of the night knowing that we had captured the truest love between these two. So take a peek at the beautiful Meghan and Dillon!

Sarah
