Sam & Michael’s Waterview Loft Port Detroit Wedding

69 / 100

First, I FREAKING LOVED THIS WEDDING. But lets start from the beginning of Sam & Michael’s Waterview Loft Port Detroit Wedding.

The most important part for me on someones wedding day is to document their story and in a way that is comfortable for myself and for the couple. It should be relaxed, fun and everything in between. That doesn’t go without saying we are at times very rushed which can put stress on us to create beautiful images. Sam, was SO SMART. Leading up to her wedding she had events planned out that gave herself a lot of time to breathe, enjoy, relax and be with friends and family. I could not believe the amount of love she had surrounding her. Every single bridesmaid, groomsmen, family member, friend was so incredibly kind to us. And to be honest that’s what makes me enjoy this the most. It really does.

Sam & Michael got ready at the Renaissance Center Marriott in Detroit which is steps away from the venue (so smart). Hair and makeup were wrapping up and when I saw Sam’s dress I could not WAIT to see her in it! I was so mind blown, she has impeccable taste!

Prior to Sam getting dressed she , her bridesmaids, mother and even the mother of the groom made a toast before they started the day and it was really sweet. And maybe because of the humble environment we were in but wow, you can tell they have a whole lot of love for Sam and Michael.

Sam put her dress on and YOU GUYS it fit her like a glove…. S T U N N I N G!

So like every Michigan day we didn’t have crazy weather but it was windy and no matter what we were having the first look on the river front. This was super important to both of them and we were totally game!

I could see the nerves in Sam because who wouldn’t be super nervous to see the love of their life for the first time on their wedding day? But her nerves were genuine, pure, and came from a good place…her heart. I followed Sam out to the riverfront where Michael was waiting. Every step the wind blew harder and harder but it wasn’t phasing any of us. Watching Sam walk up to Michael was heartfelt and the moment he turned you could INSTANTLY see the comfort he gave her. It was like they were in their own world. Her nerves dropped, he made her comfortable, warm and nothing else mattered. Walking back in the wind gusts I saw both of them smile, laugh and just really took in the moment. So beautiful.

Because of our timing (Thank you Sam for being incredible for this!) we headed to the DIA for more photos. Everyone packed up jumped in the limo and off we went.

The bridal party photos, we couldn’t have asked for a better group and once completed we headed back to the Waterview Loft for the party to unwind and prepare for the ceremony. HOW SMART IS THAT?! We had time to take photos of the room, even chat with them to get to know them better. Sam I saw sitting with her parents and you could see how calming it was for her and that truly is very special.

Once the ceremony started the rest of the evening is history. It was beautiful, elegant and I couldn’t have been happier with such a kind couple to document. Thank YOU for being YOU. Thank you for letting us document your story and being just fantastic to be around and work with!

Here’s a look into our time with them!

Enjoy! =)
