The mission of my blog is to help couples envision their story through my eyes. Also help them enjoy their wedding day planning with tips and ideas from my experiences as a wedding photographer. - Sarah Kossuch, Rochester MI
As April was quickly approaching I had been preparing myself for the 2013 wedding season to kick off. It wasn’t until a few weeks prior I realized that I will then be away from my family almost every single weekend from now until the end of the year! As everyone knows the Michigan weather was less than stellar this year with grey gloomy skies and temperatures that were hardly above freezing.
I decided on a whim, you know what? Let’s go to Florida! So I convinced (and it took a LOT) Ryan to say yes and agree and away we booked! But, let me slow down for a second. To find a place to stay (hotel or cottage) ANYWHERE in Florida the week of Spring Break was INSANELY hard. And I mean very hard. I called hotel after hotel after hotel. All of them booked. I went on Vacation Rentals with zero luck there. I finally managed to find a hotel which was off the beat and path but it was doable.
Then Ryan started to dig a little more after I made reservations and believe it or not he managed to find a place on eBay! YES, eBay! He went to the website and low and behold it claimed it was available the week of Spring Break (which just so happened to be only a couple days away!) We contacted the owner and sure enough it was available due to a last minute cancellation. It was FATE! We instantly said “WE’LL TAKE IT!” I cannot begin to tell you how incredibly perfect this place was.
The owner’s name is Helena and she was more then a pleasure to speak with. The name of her rentals is Florida Shore Rentals
I wanted a vintage cottage on the beach, I got a beautiful old incredibly maintained cottage on the beach. When I say on the beach, I mean it is actually ON the beach!
So we were booked and away we went on our road trip to Florida!
We finally managed to get there after the insane amount of traffic we went through and the crazy backups – WHEW!
So in-between being beach bums, throwing a Frisbee and attending the aquarium we had a blast!
Here are a few images of my little ladies as they enjoy themselves with Mama & Daddy in Florida. My boys were incredibly missed as they spent Spring Break with their Dad but next year they get to choose the spot and we will head off as one big happy family again! <3
Seashell searching (this one of Lola cracks me up!)
