THE INDEX

it’s the little things. lifestyle photography.

As I prepare for 2013 I am reminded of how much I enjoy viewing life. Not only just viewing life but viewing life in a natural way. I LOVE photographing families, I just happen to love photographing families …. well, being themselves! There’s not always going to be that perfect shot and as a mother and even a photographer it’s just too hard. You’re stressed out trying to get your little ones to smile or “say cheese” and it really stresses the kids out too. I try my best to do what I can but ultimately letting the kids be themselves is the best way! Plus, I don’t know about you but I love having my walls full of images of my kids being themselves. It’s really enjoyable to see kids in a variety of settings and that too me melts my heart. I love .love. LOVE shooting families in their own home. It gives everyone an incredible amount of comfort during the shoot, it creates TONS of props and it has a HUGE meaning for every member because it’s their home!

So having a little bit of time to myself and wanting a few images of my girls I thought, well this is the perfect post for this! Taking pictures of them wasn’t stressful as it used to be with “Come on Ella just look here, smile … UGH!” I positioned them of course but then I let them do their thing. As luck would have it Lola was not in the mood BUT they still look perfect too me.

Here’s a little peek at my little fun session with Ella + Lola (her real name is Lorelei =) )

EMILY AND dan TIE THE KNOT

It’s about more than hiring someone to hold a camera and snap a few pics. Wedding photography is about carefully crafting and capturing the moments of your big day in a way that beautifully tells the story of your love.
