Oakland Hills Country Club Bloomfield Hills Wedding

66 / 100

It was a gorgeous summer day for this Oakland Hills Country Club Bloomfield Hills wedding. And let me tell you about this beautiful venue! Oakland Hills Country Club looks amazing inside and out, which doesn’t always happen when photographing at golf courses. The interior had a unique vintage feel, and the exterior was simple, yet elegant. But it wasn’t the venue that made the day special, it was the spectacular couple! Libby and Nick were seriously one of my favorite couples! They were so easy going and it made the day stress free! Which rarely ever happens!

We started out the day photographing Libby and Nick getting ready. Nicole, my second photographer for day, photographed alongside me during the morning as she was not allowed inside the gentlemen’s locker room where Nick was getting ready. As Libby slipped into her gorgeous dress, Nicole met up with Nick to photograph the finishes touches.

Before the ceremony, Libby and Nick had their first look on the grand staircase at Oakland Hills. Nick stood excitedly at the bottom of the staircase and Libby walked down towards him. As she approached, Nick turned around and his face absolutely lite up! It was such a special moment to witness between these two. They were unbearably happy!

Afterwards we went outside to photograph the happy couple! The sun was shining with a nice breeze, a perfect day for a wedding. As we headed out onto the golf course, we noticed a familiar face out on the course, and it wasn’t a family member! Mark Wahlberg was out on the course playing golf and Libby asked if he would take a picture with them. He happily obliged and introduced himself to the couple. It was definitely a cool, unexpected moment.

We photographed the beautiful bridal party out on the golf course, and then we were off to their ceremony at Academy of the Sacred Heart in Bloomfield Hills. Before the ceremony began, the bridal party waited in a room nearby. The lighting and details in this room were absolutely stunning that I could not resist taking more photographs. Libby and Nick looked amazing as I photographed the two just before their ceremony.

The ceremony, held in the chapel of the church, was not only beautiful to witness, it was also funny. The priest shared the funny story of how Libby and Nick met and the guests were all laughing. It was a beautiful ceremony focused on the love between Libby and Nick.

Following the ceremony, we headed back to Oakland Hills Country Club for their reception. During cocktail hour, held outside, the guests mingled and sipped on their custom blue drinks. The bridal party entered on golf carts and the guests cheered as Libby and Nick pulled up and got out of their golf carts. It was definitely a grand entrance.

After cocktail hour, the guests headed inside for the remainder of the evening. Their first dance was amazing! Libby and Nick had a coordinated dance routine and they pulled it off perfectly!
