Ok ok ok it’s been a LONG time since I’ve been on my blog. Iy Yi Yi! 2014 was such an incredible year and I’m REALLY looking forward to blogging each of the incredible weddings I had the pleasure of photographing. But friends, well, let me start with the most recent. Why? Well, let me tell you. For the year 2014 I photographed 28 weddings and multiply that by engagement shoots plus a few of my favorite portrait sessions and you have one tired little mama! Now don’t get me wrong I am B E Y O N D grateful for each and every client! Sometimes after a while I get a bit exhausted. Weddings are not easy, it’s a lot of being on your feet, tons of walking, not a lot of sitting and heavy equipment to lug around. You miss every weekend event with friends and family including some school activities. But you know what, I did it. That’s because I love this. I love my job, I 110% truly do. I even find myself talking about it with friends who aren’t even in the wedding business. I eat, sleep, breathe weddings.
I managed to get through the entire year, blood sweat and tears continuing to strive to be the best I can be. So why am I starting backwards? Because after 28 weddings I felt that I was at my highest high instead of my lowest low. I’m in this to tell stories. Not just one story but tons of stories. Whether it’s a wedding, and engagement or a portrait session, I want these images to show the world who you are. And you know, I’m R E A L L Y proud of myself. I’m proud as hell that I got through this year with incredible people and still managed to be the best mom, wife and friend I could be. Now there’s always stressful moments but thats why you have friends and family to keep pushing you through. And thats exactly what I had/have, an incredible support system. Without my clients, friends, and family I don’t know where I’d be and for that I’m truly thankful.
SOOOOOOOOO …. while I’m wrapping up 2014 edits I set time aside in the past few days to sit down and reflect on the last wedding of the year. Thank you everyone for your support, EEEK it gives me goosebumps because you guys R O C K! xoxoxo
Now, Rachel + Justin are Michigan natives, who had an incredible Downtown Detroit wedding on New Years Eve 2014! Because time was of the essence Rachel + Justin decided on a first look. This gave them a huge advantage. We were able to photograph in natural light as well as had plenty of time without being rushed for creative images. And a BIG giant THANK YOU to Derek Cookson for helping me photograph their beautiful story.
